95% of US Aircraft and 60% of US flight hours are flown by other than major and regional airlines or the military. General Aviation includes business, recreational and instructional flying.

Artex offers two different ELT series to meet the requirements of General Aviation aircraft owners and operators for lighter, smaller ELTs with easy and cost efficient upgrades from C91 and C91a ELT systems.

The Artex G406-4 series, the "original" 406MHz General Aviation ELT, transmitting on all three emergency frequencies (121.5, 243.0 and 406 MHz) is capable of being interfaced with a separate, optional Artex ELT to NAV Interface enableing the sending of latitude / longitude position of the aircraft as part of the digital message transmission. This reduces the search area from 1260 square kilometers with conventional C91a beacons to less than 100 meters.

The Artex ME406 series is designed specifically for the private pilot and with a weight of two pounds, it is the smallest, lighest and least expensive 406 MHz ELT on the market (transmitting on 121.5 and 406 MHz).

Please click on the "C-126 ELT" link in the navigation bar to the left and chose any of the ELT series for further information. Artex is offering seveal upgrade systems from 2-frequency systems currently offered by other ELT manufacturers to the new 406 MHz technology.
